"The mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, the great teacher inspires."

The Staff at Pacific School

Pacific School staff works as a team, dedicated to providing a learning environment that nurtures each child, promotes social skills, health, curiosity and creativity. The staff includes a Superintendent/Principal and an Administrative Assistant, seven certificated Classroom Teachers, two Preschool Teachers, and Instructional Aides in each classroom. In addition to the classroom programs, skilled staff members provide instruction in technology & media literacy, garden-based environmental science, cooking & nutrition, drama, music, and visual arts. Students receive extra support from a Resource Specialist, a Speech & Language Therapist, and an Occupational Therapist. Pacific School staff also includes after school recreation , a 3-day a week School Secretary, a part-time librarian, and custodial staff.

Shared vision, love for children, and respect for each other create a close family that extends out to the greater school community. Staff members meet informally throughout the school year, and attend a monthly Whole Staff meeting to discuss a wide variety of topics, schedule events, and work together to create solutions wherever needed. Because children are so well known by most staff members, they feel secure and cared for. Staff training supports the shared belief that children respond best when they are liked and respected, and harsh voices, frustration, or scorn is never an effective way to interact. Many parents have commented that the sense of harmony and the beautiful environment is what make Pacific School so special.
