Theater at Pacific School

Theater and performing arts a big part of the culture at Pacific School. Not only do students participate in numerous musical events over the course of the year, but many small plays and presentations are created and performed both within the classroom and school-wide. Theatre has a strong role in classroom learning, as a way for children to learn and understand history and to explore both social dynamics and the world around them.

In a more official capacity, students rehearse and perform a full-scale dramatic production, complete with songs, costumes, and sets. Everyone works very hard to make the magic happen -- and it does!

This year the 2nd through 6th graders are working with Ben Jammin' Holck to produce, direct, and act in a creative production of The Wizard of Oz, with performances on March 31st and April 1st. In 2009, the children worked with Ben Jammin' Holck to put on a production of The Lion King, complete with beautiful masks, costumes and sets created by parent volunteers and students.
